Wisconsin Centrifugal Corporation
A third party contractor brought a claim against Wisconsin Centrifugal Corporation, a 500-employee manufacturing company in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The plaintiff, a man in his 20's, had received an electrical shock while painting on Wisconsin Centrifugal premises. Having lost a leg and the use of one arm in the accident, he was a very sympathetic witness. Even though there were alleged code violations, the jury was convinced that Wisconsin Centrifugal was not at fault, and that the injuries and damages were due to the plaintiff's conduct.
